Job Description
PRODUCT ENGINEERING-TEST & VALIDATION TECHNICIAN
Duties: Under supervision this position is responsible for the set up of test equipment to evaluate the performance of various products, (generators, pressure washers, tractors and snow blowers).
Perform various engineering tests using basic measurement devices and test equipment and perform standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations Analyze, interpret and communicate test results; develop new test set-ups and/or test methods Perform basic mechanical assembly, including wiring and fabrication Assist in the fabrication and/or assembly of prototype devices
Skills:
Ability to set-up, calibrate and use basic measurement devices and test equipment which may include load cells, thermocouples, transducers, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, dynamometers, etc.
Ability to use basic machine tools which may include a drill press, band saw, etc.
Proficient understanding of various products which may include air-cooled gasoline engines and their operation
Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and understanding of or ability to learn complex engineering software (e.G. LabVIEW, MatLab, etc.)
Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to deal with a varied workforce and changing conditions Ability to analyze data and create technical documents
