Develop project scopes, DOE, and assist in the development of product DVP&Rs
Design, assemble and debug test fixtures which include circuit design, DAQ implementation, and mechanical fixturing
Conduct electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests
Review engineering test requests, provide feedback to product engineers if necessary, analyze data, create analysis algorithms, write test reports, report test failures, and follow up with appropriate action plans.
Serve as technical expert to internal and external customers regarding testing of generators/battery powered equipment
Maintain test equipment including calibration of gages, replacement of consumable components, and preventive maintenance per supplier schedules
Design, develop, and implement control algorithms for automated test equipment
Interpret field test data and generate lab tests based load profiles
Continuously research, select, and apply new technologies for test applications
Conduct studies to determine feasibility, costs, and benefits of future test systems
Documentation of system implementations including mechanical design, engineering standards, electrical schematics, and industrial layouts
Mentor/train engineers, technicians, and other employees on test processes, plans, and procedures
Travel requirement: 10%
Ability to coordinate a project from conceptualization, gather customer requirements, define a budget/timeline, define hardware components, source, and execute projects on time and within budget
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication including the ability to lead discussions with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and technicians
Self-starter, ability to multitask, ability to work independently or in groups, work well under pressure, and demonstrated leadership ability.
Well experienced and knowledgeable in the fields of electronics/electrical engineering, control systems, mechanics, statistics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, battery systems, industrial pneumatics, programming languages (Visual Basic, Labview, HTML), prototype development using Matlab/Simulink or Arduino similar platforms
Prior experience working with power generation equipment, brushless electric motors/controllers, battery storage systems, electronics for monitoring power systems, or high voltage circuits
Advanced knowledge of DAQ systems, sensors, signal analysis, and wire harness building
Ability to coach and mentor engineers and technicians
Proficiency in MS Office, Pro/E, and Matlab or equivalent software
Basic knowledge in the use of hand/power tools, fabrication skills, demonstrate a good mechanical, and have a working understanding of mechanical design.
Basic knowledge of combustion engines, lawn tractors, pressure washers, generators, etc.
Bachelors degree in Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience preferred
