SHORT CONTRACT 60 Working days to Union/perm ***NEED TO HIT GROUND RUNNING DUE TO THIS
What are the hours for the position? 1st Shift (M-F 7: 00am-3: 30pm) 2nd Shift (M-Th 3: 30pm-2: 00am) OT will be Saturday for 1st and Friday for 2nd, usually none on contract.
What is the work environment like?
This is a typical job shop, it can get hot, dirty, and not the best lit environment. Will be around galvanized steel so must be okay working in a industrial environment.

Training and first day is very quick, mostly shadowing but will be thrown in very quickly. They need to impress in their first couple of weeks and be urgent or they will have their performance reviewed negatively. Should be fully trained within a week.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Once they are trained, how do you evaluate their performance? What will you be looking at? Are there any quotas, timelines, deliverables?

- Read blueprints with some assistance.
- Demonstrate ability to turn on welding machine, connect cables properly, and adjust machine settings for proper weld penetration and appearance.
- Turn regulator valves to activate flow of gases, torch lights, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame for cutting.
- Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to join edges of work piece with supervision.
- Weld flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts by positioning with bolts, clamps or by tack welding to secure in position prior to welding.
- Welding on Galvanized steel must be locked down on this****
